The Hill Country Devil “Strings for Hope” Jewelry Giveaway Contest
The last time we met up with Hayden Karchmer, A.K.A. The Hill Country Devil, he recorded a profound and visceral rendition of "Somewhere Safe and Always Quiet", a song about redemption, something that feels honest when coming from Hayden. We call ourselves song-hunters, and great songs tell stories. Hopeful stories are some of our favorites, which is why we've partnered with our friends Strings for Hope, who train and employ survivors of addiction, domestic violence, and sex trafficking to craft one-of-a-kind jewelry made from discarded guitar strings that would otherwise fill up a landfill.
The greatest gifts that we have received in our years of documenting the work and lives of artists like Hayden Karchmer and so many others have been the letters we've received about how their performances have helped our viewers find hope, and the strength to turn the page into a new chapter of their lives. We believe that these rings and bracelets, crafted by survivors from the strings of a friend and musician who has manifested some of the most powerful words about despair and redemption that we've ever heard, are a potent and purposeful symbol of our message.
We’re giving away a ring from this set of strings to one of y’all. If you don’t wear rings, well consider another fan in your life, I hear they make thoughtful gifts. If you're inclined, briefly write to us in the form below about a song or an artist that has changed your life for the better and we will pick a winner out of the proverbial hat.
